School Day
The school day begins at 8:40am and ends at 3:15pm. This equates to approximately 32hours and 55mins a week.
Morning Drop-Off At drop-off, parents are warmly welcomed at the school gate by a member of staff. This provides a friendly opportunity to share a quick hello, pass on important messages, or raise any concerns before the day begins. If you require a more in depth conversation with your child's class teacher, please make an appointment with the school office.
To ensure a calm and safe start to the morning, children arrive in the following place:
Nursery Squirells - Main school entrance on Ben Lane then through the gate to the left of the main school doors
FS2/Y1 Otters - Main school entrance on Ben Lane
Year 1/2 Badgers and Y3 Foxes - Rural Lane entrance first gate
Years 4 Robins , Y5 Weasels , and Y6 Adders - Rural Lane entrance second gate

Children engage in their morning work and interventions during registration.
Our whole-school assembly days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Wednesday – Singing assembly, including Makaton and BSL. We enjoy show tunes, Disney classics, and seasonal gems!
Friday – Celebration assembly; to celebrate individuals, recognise achievements, and collectively thank children and staff for their contribution to school and our community.
Children engage with our Wisewood Curriculum, see our curriculum pages for further details.
Our KS1 and KS2 children have a morning break at 10:30am. This is an outdoor break allowing them time to explore, play, and grow in our fantastic, well-resourced outdoor environment.
Our outdoor play offer includes large climbing equipment, small worlds, construction, nature kitchen, scooters, outdoor reading, sand and water play, and so much more. See out Outdoor Offering page for further details.
After outdoor break its time for a second set of curriculum learning.
Lunchtime is staggered to allow children a calm and inviting eat experience. Early year staff have their lunch with the children to support and develop conversation, table manners, and healthy choices and routines. Our school cooks are the kindest, most support people, who go out of their way to make sure children feel welcomed and have a positive lunchtime.
Lunchtime is followed by another outdoor break that makes the most of our amazing outdoor spaces. Members of staff and pupils support organised games and activities, including dance, football, hockey, cricket, volleyball, and basketball. Peer mediators help their fellow students with friendship disputes and conflict resolution. Our KS2 play leaders support KS1 and Early Years children during playtimes, helping them to navigate the different activities and facilitate fun, meaningful experiences at lunchtime.
Our afternoon gives children more time for wider curriculum learning.
Children enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum offer that is progressive, engaging, and designed to meet their needs. In the afternoon, children explore Geography, Design and Technology, Science, Art, Music, Computing, PSHE, Spanish (KS2), History, and Religious Education.
KS1 children have an afternoon break at 2:00pm
KS2 children are encouraged to have an afternoon ‘movement break’, allowing time to reset and refocus to improve concentration for the next part of the lesson.
The school day ends at 3:15pm. Children are collected from the same point as morning drop-off, ensuring a smooth and familiar routine. This is also a valuable opportunity for you to greet your child’s class teacher, share any quick updates, and enjoy a positive end to the school day together. Children who attend afterschool club will be collected by our afterschool club leader.
