As an academy we have the right to decide our own admissions policy however in order to ensure consistency across the city we buy in the Sheffield City Council Admissions Policy. The council admits children to the school by using the criteria set down in their brochure ‘A Partnership with Parents’. Normally priority is given to children who live with parents or guardians within the catchment area of the school. This can be found by clicking on the following link
We warmly welcome visits to our school as we believe that this is the best way for parents to know whether a school environment is right for their child. Please contact the office on 0114234 3304 to arrange a visit.
Once you have been allocated a place at Wisewood Community Primary School
Once your child has been offered a place in our Reception we will contact you in the Summer Term prior to them starting in the Autumn Term of the next academic year to invite you to a parents meeting where you will meet the key members of staff and have the chance to have your questions answered.
At the Parents meeting you will receive an information pack which will help you and your child prepare for starting school. Included will be an admissions form, it is important that we receive the completed form along with a copy of your child's birth certificate prior to them starting school.
During the Summer Term we will also invite you and your child to some fun stay and play sessions where they will meet our Reception Teachers and Teaching Assistants, but more importantly they will get to experience the school environment in a fun and relaxed manner which we find aids the transition into school process.
Year 1 - Year 6
Once you have been notified that your child has been allocated a place at our school please get in touch to arrange a start date for your child. If you have not already done at this point it is recommended that you make an appointment to come and have a look around the school.
Prior to your child starting at our school we will ask you to complete our Admissions Form and provide a copy of your child's birth certificate, this is to ensure we have all the important information about our child prior to their start date.
If you have any queries about your child starting school please do not hesitate to contact us on 0114 2343304.
