Healthy Schools
Wisewood Community Primary School is a healthy school and this is reflected in our policy. We encourage all children to bring a healthy snack to enjoy during the morning break. As an education facility we recognise the importance of a healthy, balanced diet and lifestyle. Establishing this in childhood helps to promote healthy eating habits for life. Healthy eating is explicitly taught within the Science, PSHE, D&T and PE curriculum. Each of these subject areas will be developing a range of skills and understanding that will contribute to towards a healthy lifestyle. We believe that healthy children are best able to take full advantage of the educational opportunities that school provides. All children in EYFS and KS1 are provided with a range of fresh fruit or veg on a daily basis.
