Food Waste Workshop

This afternoon, we were very lucky to have four biology students from Sheffield University come into class to work with us. We found out about.......

How much food we waste. Did you know that half of tomatoes are wasted and two thirds of bread is wasted? We learnt about the impact this has on climate change.

Today Class 5 went to St Polycarp’s church for Walk Through Holy Week. This gave us the opportunity to bring together what we have learnt in R.E. throughout the term. We were very proud of the class - they remembered so much about the Jewish Passover and how Christian’s celebrate Easter. Plus they were complimented several times on their knowledge, how much they participated and their behaviour - well done Class 5 - you are stars!

We entered the temple (where Jesus turned over the tables). We took part in Jesus’s last supper.

We might even squeeze in a trip to visit some real mummies at Weston Park Museum - watch this space!

We have been investigating the question 'What happens when a pharaoh dies?' The class have found out about mummification and the Ancient Egyptian afterlife. Here our instructions on how to mummify....
