We had a BRILLIANT afternoon at our class carnival! We dressed up, had a parade and danced our socks off to samba music!
***Next Monday afternoon we will be having our own class carnival! Please bring bright clothes in a bag to wear!***
Welcome back! This half term our topic is Rio da Vida! We will be learning all about the Rio carnival and how they celebrate it as well at the weather in Brazil, making our own carnival masks and writing some poetry.
This week is Science Week! We have been doing lots of different science experiments - our first one was balloon rockets! This was so much fun and we used our scientific brains really well asking questions and making predictions. Have a look at our amazing photos below...
We were lucky enough to have a visit from a local author Wendy - she is currently publishing a children's book. She read the story to the children and they had a great time asking questions and finding out how a book is made. To finish off the brilliant morning the children all had a go at making a character from the story!
Visit from a local author
This half term our topic is called 'A Very Royal Adventure' and we are going to be learning all about London and the Royal family. Our focus story is Cinderella and we are going to be using this a lot to help us develop our story telling skills. To help us do this we have developed a story map together. See if you can use this at home to retell the story!
Have a look at this AMAZING independent writing!!!
This afternoon some children have been creating a Cinderella's castle! They worked as a team to design, build and then write about their creation. What do you think???
