Spring 1 Blue Abyss

As part of our Blue Abyss topic, we have found out about Morgan the orca, held in captivity at Seaworld's Loro Parque in Tenerife. The children have written some fantastic persuasive letters to travel agents to convince them to stop selling tickets to Loro Parque in the hopes that this will lead to Morgan's release.

We also created these persuasive videos to spread the message about Morgan. I'm sure you will agree that year 4 have done a fantastic job using iMovie to make these heartbreaking videos. Get your tissues ready!

Morgan is an Orca who was captured off the coast of Norway 8 years ago and is in captivity at Loro Parque in Tenerife. Year 4 have been learning all about orcas and other sea creatures as part of our Blue Abyss topic and were inspired to write these persuasive letters to try and convince travel agents not to sell tickets to the aquarium to holidaymakers. The children used their vast knowledge of orcas in captivity as well as a variety of persuasive techniques in their writing. I'm sure you'll agree they are very persuasive indeed!
