We loved the exciting and engaging learning opportunities this half term offered. We kicked off our topic learning with a visit from a man named Ranger Dean, who brought along a selection of creepy crawlies. We enjoyed observing and holding the different animals and discussing their natural habitats, diet and behaviour as part of our science learning. We wrote detailed and visual descriptions of the animals we saw as part of our exciting writing.
Using our core text as inspiration, we painted pictures of the African sunset using water colour paints. We put artistic shadows on to it for a really effective masterpiece! As part of our design and technology topic, we designed our own animal prints and made them out of different materials.
Our geography skills took off this half term as we found out all about life in Africa and the similarities and differences between our lives and locations.
We loved the scope for exploring different movements in PE and drama, role playing different animals and adapting the ways we moved in order to match these animals was great fun.
