This half term we have been focussing on designing, creating and using our imaginations. We have been making space buggies suitable for carrying passengers to the moon, designing different aliens and making plans for super speedy rockets. In science, we have been looking at different materials and their properties. This helped us with our Design and technology projects as we soon figured out that maybe napkins were not the most suitable material for effective space flight missions!
We have been using the moon and our core text 'Man on the moon' to inspire our writing this half term. Using our senses, we went on an imagination journey to the moon and wrote descriptions of what we could see, hear, smell and feel. We wrote interesting descriptions of the aliens we could see and even wrote postcards to our families from the moon!
In geography we found out about the different places in the UK, including the capital cities. It was important that we learnt about these, just in case a friendly alien came down to earth and was wondering where to visit.
